My Dad’s test came back positive, or as they call it, ‘Remission’. The Cancer has gone, just like Mia.

I know what you’re thinking. It’s a cheesy ending. “And they all lived happily ever after”.
Asif.
It’s a big thing to recover from Cancer. It leaves scars, both physically and mentally. My Dad never did go back to his funny-old self but I Iove him more than ever.
Mum went back to college, so I hardly get to see her - but when I do, she seems happy. Younger. Re-inflated.
We went to Poland to see where Mum grew up. It was beautiful. The most beautiful country in the world and guess what? It’s in my blood.
I finally got to kiss Lauren Hope but when I did, our teeth clashed. But hey, at least we’re mates.
Jug got expelled for pressing his buttocks against the window on the day of the OFSTED inspection, which is a shame, as I miss him. So does Neat, when she’s not dating Spencer George.
I do still hear from Mia, from time to time, but it’s different now. Less intense.
And me? Life is good. I have hair, friends, a girlfriend called Emily, two parents, two countries and a stain the shape of the Isle of Capri.
I once saved a mermaid and she once saved me.

My name is Jan, with a, 'Why?'
